ChemCan Larry poem by Joey Tholen

Once upon a morning early
sort of sleepy, kind of surly,
hadn't had his coffee 'cause he
hadn't done his morning chore;
fumbled with his tent unzippers,
found his sponge bob square pants slippers,
went to have his private moment,
lit a smoke, and shut the door.
________

Quiet morning, solitary,
No one up but Scary Larry,
when he hears the rumble of the
porta-potty cleaning truck;
poor guy nearly blew a gasket,
trapped there in his chem can casket,
quiet morning shattered by ol
mELVIN screaming, "WHAT THE *@#% !!"
______

Inspired by this Blue Endeavour,
fame will follow him forever,
Campers will delight to tell
the story of that truck's attack.
Yet still he writes here, hair unruly,
spreading mirth and mayhem, bluely,
all his songs still sound like "Dooley,"
quothe the Rookies, "PUT HIM BACK."
________

So he's got this reputation;
("Fame Eternal." "Blue Damnation.")
who's to say what sort of movie/book deal there may be?
I don't think he wants a statue-
all I ask is simply that you
join me in wishing HAPPY BIRTHDAY mELVIN p!
